Description

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?
This book was written for people who love God and want to know for sure that they will go to Heaven when they die. While such a “target audience” would primarily consist of God-fearing religious folks, their scriptural knowledge about salvation would be seriously lacking.
However, a second, far less perceptible demographic exists: those who, despite having a strong, Bible-based church background, never truly got “born again” themselves; and, worse yet, remain totally oblivious to this reality. Though most can recall repeating a generic prayer to “ask Jesus into their hearts,” this same Jesus appears in Matthew 7:22-23 sealing their surreal fate for never having formed a genuine personal relationship with Him: “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not…in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Dr. R. G. Lee, the most famous Southern Baptist pastor of the twentieth century, thought that as much as 80% of the SBC membership was lost; the Convention’s greatest evangelist, Dr. J. Harold Smith, put the figure at 90%.
Thus, in II Corinthians 13:5, carnal church members were warned by the Apostle Paul, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” Many contemporary “Christians” possess no recollection (or comprehension, for that matter) of having fallen under Holy Ghost conviction before salvation (John 6:44). Few have experienced a changed life (II Corinthians 5:17), a daily conflict between their old and new natures (Galatians 5:17), or the chastening hand of God when necessary (Hebrews 12:5-10).
And so, life-time church person-if your self-examination lacks the right proof-why not join the others in reading this vital book also?
