Description
From the author, Dennis Corle:
Fasting is not primarily physical, though it certainly affects the physical body; it is primarily a spiritual thing. Abstinence alone is not fasting. It is what I do in place of eating that makes it fasting, such as communing with God in prayer, mourning over sin and afflicting my soul, learning to delight in God and His presence. I take that time, energy, and effort, and instead of spending it eating, giving my flesh what it wants, I commune with God to obtain what I desperately need in the prayer closet.
Fasting helps us to delight in God, to break the bondage to sin in out lives, and it opens up a whole new avenue of power in the prayer closet so that we can obtain ‘this kind’ of answers in prayer.
